The Christmas season is meant to be the happiest time of the year. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many who live in difficult circumstances. Therefore, this year, as last year, the Józsefváros Municipality asks the district’s community to support the individuals and families in need to make their holiday special.

Donations to the Municipality will help bring food to the holiday table for those in need and gifts to children whose families have difficulty making the holiday season special.

With last year’s Christmas fundraising, we were able to help more than a thousand individuals and families thanks to the monetary contributions, donations of cleaning supplies, nonperishable food products, and toys from the people of Józsefváros. Thanks to all the individuals, civil and church communities, and businesses joining our fundraising campaign again this year.

Where and how to donate nonperishable food products and toys?

Our staff distributes packages among families and individuals in need, including nonperishable food products and toiletries donated to the Józsefváros Social Services and Children’s Welfare Center (JSzSzGyK).

After prior arrangement, we accept the following offers at our site at Kőris utca: pasta, flour, oil, canned food, sugar, rice, salt, bagged soup, other essential foods, toiletries, sanitary napkins, disinfectants.
