Animals are an indispensable part of our society, which is why they deserve our attention and devotion. In Józsefváros, we pay special attention to promoting animal welfare and encouraging responsible pet ownership. We believe that animal protection is a common cause in which everyone can play a role, which is why this year, in addition to numerous animal protection measures, we are dedicating an entire week to gaining a deeper understanding of coexistence with animals in the district as part of the Animals’ Week in Józsefváros program series between September 29 and October 4.

What else is the Józsefváros Municipality doing during Animal Week?
In addition to public events, the Municipality is paying special attention to ensuring that even the youngest residents of Józsefváros can learn about living in harmony with animals. During Animals’ Week, Józsefváros nurseries and kindergartens also organize numerous activities for children, including games and crafts, animal shows, educational presentations, and many other programs that teach children how to live more peacefully with animals in the city.
In addition, we are also involved in Animals’ Week within the municipal institutions: we are launching a donation drive at the Mayor’s Office and going on joint dog walks with the dogs of the Zöld Menedék Animal Alapítvány, and we are also holding a “Bring Your Dog to Work” day at the Office.
If you have any questions about the programs, please feel free to contact our colleague, Ádám Balogh, animal welfare officer.
