One of the winning ideas of the Józsefváros 2022 Participation Budget was the reopening of the Dankó udvar. The municipality hired the RÉV8 team to organise the life of the park. As a first part of the process, in autumn 2023, we asked the residents of the neighbourhood what they would like to do in the park during this trial period and what should definitely be included in the Dankó udvar house rules. Who will take care of the park?

Community workers will be waiting for visitors in the park and a guard will keep order at the gate. To find out more about the Danko udvar, visit https://www.dankoudvar.hu/.

What will be the opening hours?

In May the park is open every day from 10am to 7pm with a wide range of activities. We welcome every generation to play sports, do arts and crafts, garden or just have a good chat. All activities are free and open to all. The exact programme can be found in the timetable: dankoudvar.hu/programok

What is the test period?

This year we are opening Dankó udvar with a test period that will last until October. The test period means that the programmes, equipment and house rules can be changed based on experience. If a programme date is inconvenient for many people, it will be rescheduled. If there’s a need for a parasol or different opening hours, we’ll look into that too. And in the autumn we will ask people in the area to give us their opinions and experiences of the park. The Municipality will then decide on the future of the Dankó udvar.
