On 28 August 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00, an English-language, free but registration-required workshop discussion will launch the workshop series initiated by the SHELTER Program..
The project, titled “SHELTER – Mutual learning program on how to support victims of domestic violence at a local level”, was awarded to the Municipality of Józsefváros in November 2024 through a call for proposals organised by the European Commission. As part of the project, the municipality undertook to hold English-language online workshop discussions and formulate policy recommendations to combat gender-based violence together with its consortium partners.
The first session of the online workshop series is organised by one of the program’s consortium partners, Una Casa Per L’Uomo (UCPU), an Italian victim support and housing organisation. This initial workshop aims to outline possibilities for cooperation between municipal, civil, and state actors to launch and operate joint programmes for supporting victims of domestic violence.
At this occasion, Katalin Ámon, Women’s Affairs Officer of the Equal Opportunities Office of the Social Policy Department of the Municipality of Józsefváros, will also give a presentation on the municipality’s role in victim support.
