In Józsefváros, the Józsefváros Social Services and Child Welfare Centre (JSzSzGyK) operates several senior clubs that welcome new members throughout the year.
Why join a senior club?
Senior clubs provide an opportunity for everyone to spend their free time in a way that best suits their needs and lifestyle. Everyone can find their place here.
We warmly welcome you:
- If you are looking for a calm and safe environment due to recent changes in your physical or mental health, or if recreation and relaxation are important to you.
- If you would like to spend your time more actively, are full of energy, and enjoy participating in various community programmes.

How should I choose a club?
We recommend visiting the clubs in person and choosing based on your personal impression.
It’s also worth considering some practical aspects:
- Choose a club that’s easy to reach or located near your home.
- If you require barrier-free access, note that the Napraforgó Senior Club is accessible.
- Each club offers different programmes and activities, so you can choose based on your interests.
- If social life is important to you, you might also ask your friends which club they attend.
What programmes and activities are available?
If you enjoy games, you can play cards, bingo, or darts.
If you prefer the arts, you can join film clubs, literary sessions, or crafts workshops, and visit museums or exhibitions.
For those who like active programmes, there are excursions, walks, and even group holidays.
In addition, all clubs organize music and dance events (such as Senior Joy Dance), educational lectures, and celebrations of holidays and special occasions.
There are also wellness and health facilities available, such as:
- A salt room (for respiratory health)
- An exercise corner for gentle physical activity
- A massage chair and Bioptron MedAll lamp for relaxation and recovery
Can I participate in events organized by other senior clubs?
