Route information
Distance: 6 km, with 200 m elevation gain
Difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐
Moderately difficult hike. Crossing the gorge along the route may present a challenge, so closed, non-slip hiking shoes are required. Nevertheless, the hike is also recommended for beginners.
The area around Holdvilág-árok hides some of the most impressive hiking routes of the Visegrád Mountains. On this circular hike you’ll encounter everything that characterizes the range: a stream winding through a gorge among andesite rocks, panoramic views toward the Pilis, fresh-water springs hidden among huge trees, and many legendary trails that make it well worth leaving home.
The experienced tour guide will also share the legends and fascinating stories surrounding Holdvilág-árok with participants.
Good news: the route has recently been renovated by the staff of Pilisi Parkerdő, making it easier to pass through parts of the gorge that were previously more difficult to walk.
