Today, September 7, voting opens for the Józsefváros Participatory Budget! Residents of the district can vote until October 18 on which ideas they would like the Municipality to implement using the available HUF 200 million. Cast your vote for your favourite ideas!
This year, we received a record 515 ideas, from which a working group made up of local residents selected the 40 best ideas to appear on the ballot. It is now up to the residents of the district to decide which ideas should be implemented through the Participatory Budget over the coming weeks.
Who can vote?
Anyone over the age of 14 who lives in Józsefváros can vote in the Participatory Budget.
How can you vote?
You can cast your vote both in person and online.
Online:
From September 7, once voting opens, you can vote online for your favourite ideas. Follow the regularly updated reszvetel.jozsefvaros.hu website and look for the Participatory Budget section.
If you have not registered yet, you can do so via the registration link to make sure you do not miss the opportunity to vote online.
In person:
You can vote in person at the following locations:
- Customer Service Office of the Municipality of Józsefváros– 1082 Budapest, Baross utca 66–68.
- TÁMPONT Information Service at the Municipality of Józsefváros – 1082 Budapest, Baross utca 63–67.
- Dankó Udvar – 1086 Budapest, Dankó utca 18.
The Customer Service Office is open at the following times:
- Monday: 8:00–18:00
- Tuesday: 8:00–16:00
- Wednesday: 8:00–16:30
- Thursday: 8:00–16:00
- Friday: 8:00–12:30

How does the voting work?
The available HUF 200 million is divided into four parts: the district has been divided into three voting areas, and a fourth category has been created for ideas that concern the entire district.
The ballot therefore contains a total of 40 ideas: 10 ideas for each of the three areas and 10 ideas concerning the district as a whole.
Each voter has a total of 7 votes in the Józsefváros Participatory Budget:
- 3 votes for ideas in their own area
- 2 votes for ideas concerning the entire district
- 1 vote in each of the other two areas
