What is adoption?
When applying for a grant, the applicant specifies the public space in which they can and wish to carry out the tasks. It is advisable to choose a public space close to the place of residence or place of business.
The professional criteria and the community tasks to be performed will be agreed with the applicants in cooperation with the Office of Community Participation and the staff of the Józsefváros Management Centre Ltd.
The following tasks are envisaged for cooperation under the programme, but applicants may also undertake other tasks:
- maintenance of public green areas
- maintenance of plants and flowerbeds in boxes/containers
- maintaining dog runs
- regular collection of litter in public areas
- deslippage
- renovation of green areas, e.g. grassing, planting (on a scale not requiring a public space management plan)
- soil replacement, soil improvement
- maintenance and care of trees.
If the regular maintenance/planting of the adopted area is preceded by a small-scale renovation (planting, soil replacement, grassing, etc.), this should be carried out first, if possible, so that the area can be maintained in a more orderly manner.
