Voting on the participatory budget starts on 1 April – the residents of Józsefváros can choose the best ideas out of 40 local ideas
From the 1st of April until the 20th of April, residents of Józsefváros can vote from the ideas on the 2024 participatory budget ballot paper.
This year, residents of Józsefváros will decide on the destiny of 180 million HUF.
The submission of ideas was open until 10th February, and a total of 379 proposals were received online and on paper by the deadline, 61.5% more than last year.
A panel of district residents then decided on the ideas to be put on the ballot.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR VOTING?
All residents of Józsefváros over the age of 16 can vote.
Voting is open from the 1st of April to the 20th of April 2024, both online and in person, as in previous years.
Online: after registration, you can vote at https://reszvetel.jozsefvaros.hu.
The system will assign you to the appropriate district based on the address you enter during registration. You do not need to be registered at your place of residence to participate.

Each district has 10 ideas on the ballot. So you will have 40 ideas to choose from and up to 5 votes to cast.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE VOTE?
After the 20th of April 2024, once the votes have been counted, we will announce the results and publish the list of winning ideas with the most votes online and offline.
The winning ideas will be implemented by the Municipality of Józsefváros. Where possible, we will consult with the submitters during the implementation of the ideas.

Winning ideas for the participatory budget will be decided by the Municipality’s Council of Representatives. The preparation of the implementation of the idea will then begin.
Each idea requires different preparation, planning, procurement processes and implementation work, so some ideas can be implemented quickly, within a few months, while others may take longer, up to a year in some cases.
Each winning idea will have its own data sheet, where interested parties can track the progress and current status of the idea.
