On the night of 9 February 2026 and the morning of 10 February 2026, a fire broke out in one of the apartments of the building at Tolnai Lajos utca 44.

The electricity provider, E.ON, disconnected the affected building from the power grid for safety reasons. Today, a certified electrician is inspecting the electrical system and carrying out the necessary repairs. The Municipality of Józsefváros has been informed that, if the inspection confirms everything is in order, the electricity supply may be restored by the evening of 10 February 2026.
