Upsetting dog poo-blem? Let’s do something about it together!

Last updated: (Létrehozva: )

There are plenty of dogs and dog waste on the streets in Józsefváros. However, these two things should not necessarily be related. Having many dogs around in a district is absolutely possible without having anyone to keep avoiding dog waste on the streets. Dog owners, stop messing around and start picking up the mess after your dog! This is all what is needed. Dog owners, let’s show together that you are absolutely capable of leaving a clean street behind!

Both the Józsefváros Municipality and the local dogs communities have worked hard recently to make dog owners of the district feel being in charge of keeping the streets clean, but also being responsible for the dog waste left behind.

The Dogs community of Pápa tér ( Pápa téri kutyások közössége) with partial support from the Municipality have placed yellow Szedd össze magad! (Pick it Up Yourself!) signs around the Népszínház and Csarnok quarters to raise the attention of dog owners to their responsibilities. Now, the Józsefváros Municipality has produced hundreds more of these signs and we kindly ask our locals – dog owners or not – to help us distribute them in as many places as possible. Let’s make sure that not a single dog owner can walk through the district without coming across a sign reminding the owner to their responsibilities.

If you would like to help in distributing the ‘Pick it Up Yourself’ signs, please contact the Józsefváros Office of Community Participation at reszvetel@jozsefvaros.hu.

If you would like to put up a sign on the door/fence of your condominium or even on your ground floor window bars, or you are an owner of a restaurant or a shop and would like to put the sign in a prominent place, we welcome your application here!

If you are struggling to buy dog poop bags or you happen to leave them at home, please remember that the Józsefváros Municipality provides 100 free dog poop bags every month for dog owners of the district which can be collected from:
