As last year, the Municipality of Józsefváros is organizing a fundraiser to collect menstrual supplies and other hygiene and beauty products for women living in poverty.
In Hungary, 3 out of 10 women are affected by menstrual poverty, meaning that 3 out of 10 women cannot afford to buy the necessary hygiene products during their menstruation. The eradication of menstrual poverty can only be achieved through systemic change, but in the meantime the Józsefváros Municipality is working to help women who find it difficult to buy menstrual supplies month after month.
