Our community programme for residents of Józsefváros and organisations operating in the district is continuing. The aim of the program is to support the caring for, greening, maintaining and cleaning up of public spaces by individuals and organisations for a period of one year. The support takes the form of a non-repayable grant. The maximum amount of the grant per application is HUF 200 000.
What is adoption?
When applying for a grant, the applicant individual or organisation must specify the public space in which they can and wish to carry out the work. It is advisable to choose a public space close to the place of residence, place of business or establishment.
The professional criteria and the community tasks to be performed will be agreed with the applicants in cooperation with the Office of Community Participation and the staff of the Józsefváros Management Centre Ltd. (JGK Zrt.)
The following tasks are envisaged for cooperation under the programme, but applicants may also undertake other tasks as well:
- maintenance of green areas in public spaces
- maintenance of plants and flowerbeds in boxes/containers
- maintaining dog runs
- regular collection of litter in public areas
- deslippage
- renovation of green areas, e.g. grassing, planting (on a scale not requiring a public space management plan)
- soil replacement, soil improvement
- maintenance and care of trees.
If the regular maintenance/planting of the adopted area is preceded by a small-scale renovation (planting, soil replacement, grassing, etc.), this should be carried out first, if possible, so that the area can be maintained in a more orderly manner.
Who can apply to adopt?
- Individuals over 18 years of age
- Józsefváros condominiums/ housing cooperative
- an organisation (legal entity) with its head office and/or premises in the city of Józsefváros
- institution in the city of Józsefváros
How does the municipality support the adopter?
In addition to the financial support, the implementation plan proposed by the adopter in the area will be subject to professional review by JGK Zrt. between the submission of the application and the award of the grant, and, if necessary, it will provide ongoing expert assistance in the implementation of the tasks set out in the agreement, as agreed with them. The Office of Community Participation will advise the adopters on community development and community organisation, and will help to build contacts between adopters, providing an opportunity for the exchange of experience.
