On January 1, 2024, the Municipality of Józsefváros and the Office of Community Participation will launch the third participatory budgeting.

This time, the community will decide on the fate of HUF 180 million.

As in previous years: the submission of ideas comes first, followed by the voting part. Both require registration on the website.

Please register on the website reszvetel.jozsefvaros.hu.

You can submit ideas in person at the Participation Points in the district.

In January, tell us what you think would make Józsefváros a better place. Write about what improvements you think would be useful and what would make your neighbourhood or the district more homely and liveable.

You have an idea?

Ideas can be submitted by anyone who has some connection to Józsefváros and is over 16 years old. However, only residents of the district over the age of 16 can vote.

The submission of ideas starts on 1 January 2024 and will run until 10 February.

The submission of ideas will again be facilitated by the brainstorming workshops and Participation Points, the latter will also be the venue for voting. Exact details will be published soon.

What happens to the ideas after submission?

As in the past, each idea will be reviewed and then all ideas will be made public and available on the participatory budgeting website.

Then the relevant departments of the municipality will examine the ideas to see if they can be implemented.

Later, the ideas will be discussed by a working group of district residents, who will put together a short list that will be put on the ballot papers.

How can you vote?

From 1 to 20 April 2024, you can vote online and in person. All residents of Józsefváros over the age of 16 can vote. As in previous years, you will have a total of 5 votes in 2024. You can use two votes in your own zone, one each in the other two zones and one among the ideas for the whole district. (The zone boundaries do not change.)
