For the third year in a row, the Municipality of Józsefváros organises the Night of Gypsy Music. In view of the success of previous years, this year the audience can enjoy two nights, on 31 May and 1 June, where the best gypsy bands of Hungary will perform their sometimes upbeat and sometimes heartbreaking gypsy songs in Palotanegyed.

The programmes start at 6 pm on both days, on Lőrinc Pap tér, Mikszáth tér and Krúdy Gyula utca. 

In addition to the concerts, the audience will also be able to watch the performance of Független Színház’s “Gypsies in Shop Windows”. The play deals with European dramas from a Roma perspective.

Lőrinc pap tér:

6 pm – Rostás Móni and her band will perform Satu Mare gypsy melodies

6:30 pm – Performance of the Független Színház: Gypsies in Shop Windows – European Dramas from a Roma Perspective

1 June  

Mikszáth tér: 

6 pm – Roby Lakatos, Fehér István Bunyó prima players’ gypsy orchestra, Fehér István sings tunes

Krúdy Gyula utca: 

18:00 – Gypsy orchestra of Puka Károly prima player

Lőrinc Pap tér: 

18:00 – Öcsi Zoltán Patai’s gypsy orchestra will play, Patai Zoltán Öcsi will sing songs
