The Dankó Courtyard is a community space located at 18 Dankó Street, which came to life as one of the winning ideas from the 2022 participatory budget. The courtyard opened in May 2024 for a trial period, running until October. Now, we would like to ask the residents to evaluate this period.
Please fill out our questionnaire by October 31!
During the trial period, we learned a lot about the neighborhood and the courtyard itself: there were countless UNO games, many sports activities, as well as macramé workshops, pottery sessions, and communal cooking events. By September, Dankó Courtyard had become a vibrant community hub. If you’d like to know more about the courtyard, visit dankoudvar.hu.

We’ll close the first season of the courtyard with a communal bacon roasting on October 19 at 2 PM! There will also be wreath-making, linocut printing, and team relay races on the field. We warmly invite everyone to join us!

When will the courtyard close? And what comes next?
The trial period ends on October 26, 2024. Now, we would like to ask the residents to evaluate this time. We’re interested to know if you visited the courtyard, what you liked or didn’t like, and if you’d like it to reopen next year. We have made a questionnaire for adults and one for children under 14. Based on feedback from residents, partner organizations, and RÉV8, the Józsefváros Municipality will decide how the courtyard should operate in the future.
The evaluation runs until October 31, and volunteers from the Józsefváros Municipality will visit nearby buildings to personally gather feedback from residents about the trial period.
