The BKM Budapest Public Utilities Nonprofit Private Limited (BKM Zrt.) cools the streets during the summer heat according to a special sprinkling schedule. To this end, BKM Zrt. provides a street sprinkler truck 24 hours a day, operating in two 12-hour shifts.

According to the plan, roads in residential areas are sprinkled primarily during the day, while less populated areas (such as Kőbányai út, Fiumei út, Kerepesi út, and Orczy út) are sprinkled at night.

Daytime sprinkling takes place in two phases: Baross utca divides the area in two, with Könyves Kálmán körút marking the boundary on one side and Múzeum körút on the other. The sprinkler trucks of JGK Zrt. also sprinkle the district’s streets.

Never leave a child or a pet in a car parked in direct sunlight; in this kind of weather, the temperature inside the car can rise to over 70 degrees Celsius.

If you see a child or pet left in a car parked in the sun, call the emergency number 112 immediately!

In extreme heat, the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning can also increase because air can become trapped in the chimney.

Due to cold air trapped in the chimney, flue gases produced during water heating can flow back into the home, which can lead to tragedies.

In homes where open-flue water heaters are used, it is advisable to install a carbon monoxide detector to prevent such incidents.
